Chris West - EMI desk - 'State of the Ark' studios
Sessions started in November 2004 with just Chris and Richard working on the title track 'Keys to the World' and 'Music is Power'. In December, band sessions took place with Jerry Conway - drums, Martin Slattery - piano, Terry Britten - Guitar, Jim Hunt - sax and Arniei Somogyyi on Bass. Recording to a Studer 2" 24 track tape machine, many songs were recorded including, 'World keeps Turning', 'Why Not Nothing' and 'Simple Song'.
The first string sessions were in January 05 and included, 'Simple Song' and 'World Keeps Turning'. The strings for 'Sweet Brother Malcolm' were dubbed to the live recording of Richard singing and playing a hi strung Guitar and later Terry Britten added bass and electric octave 12 string.
More band recordings throughout Jan, this time with John Gibling on bass. Backing tracks included, 'Why Do Lovers' and 'Words Just Get in the Way'.
Another string session in early February recorded 'Music is Power', 'Why Do Lovers' and Words Just Get In The Way'.
Vocals and overdubs carried on at State of the Ark Studios until the end of February 2005.
